It is in a friendly atmosphere as “running afterwork”, that the Course Capitale Olympique took place. A 5.2km race on Léman Lake’s border, in Lausanne.
An event that resembled a large number of participants at the Espace Jacques Rogge, in front of the fountain of the Olympic Museum.
Runners, young and old, had to wear the shirt of the event in order to participate to the race.
This is a pink wave that went to cover the course, after a collective warm-up.
The program of the Olympic Capital Course:
- Place de la Navigation
- Stadium Juan Antonio Samaranch
- IOC Headquarters
- Stade Pierre de Coubertin
A great event that took place in the late afternoon, and had the opportunity to welcome a host of prestige to give its kickoff. Indeed, June 23rd, marks the holding of the Olympic Day, Thomas Bach, IOC President (successor to Jacques Rogge at the IOC presidency in 2013), gave the start of the race in front of the Olympic Museum.
Close to 1000 participants were there for the 2nd edition. A good opportunity to celebrate the universal values of sport and olympism: excellence, friendship and respect.
